THE LEGO MOVIE-Analysis of underlying marketing concepts

From the story The Lego Movie, I found out that the story expresses the challenges and life of Emmet (Pratt), a normal Lego minifigure divined and predicted to save the Lego universe from the dictatorial and unkind Lord Business (Ferrell) as he advances different allies along the way. It can be realized that the LEGO brand has been an instrument for inspired and artistic storytelling around the world, no doubt that there is such mounting zeal for the first LEGO theatrical film. This is one to enhance the product of Lego as shown in the movie and children can truly love them. The following is the Lego Company that I have researched that I evaluated similar to the company mentioned in the story in terms of history, background and other relevant information.

Name of the lego company: MEGA BLOKS

The Mega Bloks has the available themed products comprising Power Rangers, Hello Kitty, Halo, Moshi Monsters, Starcraft and World of Warcraft. In addition, Mega Bloks also offers a “first builders” series for younger children. It can be realized that MEGA Brands has been considered a trustworthy company in the global industry in view of the design, manufacture and distribution of construction toys, arts and crafts, puzzles, games, demonstration boards and stationery. The toys are documented and accomplished for innovation, educational value and boundless possibilities for immersive play and entertainment. Like in the movie of Lego. Learning seems to be fun with active imagination.  The products of Mega blocks include pre-school and older kids and collectors.  The preschool sets are intended to be stress-free to handle for little hands. Each striking piece, with its distinct texture and other fascinating details, helps children positively build worlds as big as their resourcefulness and active mind. Moreover, for older kids and collectors, Mega Bloks offers more innovative sets that reassure storytelling and role-playing. If I become the manager of Lego Company, I will set market strategy as follows and based to what I learned from files shown in the class:

a.       Product Strategy: In this strategy, as a manager, I will lead my staff to create an innovative product development emphasizing themes for Lego toy products. For example, Lego toys will be known as LEGO- CLASSMATES AND FRIENDS.  There will be a highlight of lego products showing interlocking principle with its connections of each part make it unique, and offer unlimited building possibilities and enhance the development of children’s imagination and inventiveness by means of playing and learning by assembling LEGO block. There will be also a number of choices in terms of Lego manifigures collectibles for collectors and avid fans. Customer Service Call Center is available to serve any customers regarding the questions of product.

b.      Promotion Strategy: In this strategy as a manager, I will lead my team to work on producing a collection of promotional programs or launching celebrating brand’s premiere products through social media and events for children and adults through corporate affiliations and connections. Acquire global licensing also for quality products.

The legos in the company will be also set to be known as free with any harmful chemicals so parents would be assured health and safety of their children. Online marketing must facilitated from time to time.

c.       People Strategy: In this situation as a manager, my strategy is to engage more children to the excitement of availing lego. Likewise this style will also to be applied to avid adult fans who share a chunk of great buyers and customers who love collecting legos as their passion and happiness.

d.      Production Strategy: As a manager, I will suggest to have geographical location of factories to be just adjacent or just accessible to the core markets. Example: building a factory for some avid fans and customers in Europe or in the Philippines. Likewise, the facilities for production must be high tech.

e.       Positioning Strategy: The Lego Company where I belong will be known as the “Lego that gives good vibes and great values”

f.       Distribution Strategy: In this case, as a manager, I will assure the local and international distribution areas are to be served with great quality of lego products and products are to be delivered on time with no delays.

g.       Sales Strategy: In this case, sales plan are to be develop to forecasts effective sales for the period.
