The detail of the technology behind the movie “Transcendence” is the use of science of artificial intelligence and the approach of singularity. Specifically, the technology being showcased in the movie is the digital technology of uploading a consciousness into a computer. That consciousness originated from the most intelligent and brilliant mind on earth as manifested in the story. Actually, from the story, Dr. Will Caster as played by Johnny Depp performed his job as a scientist and showed strong interest and enthusiasm about the nature of the universe. He was the one who made a wild guess that in constructing sentient computer, that computer can establish a form of technological plurality which he motioned and coined to be called “Transcendence”. The product creation for this include erection of copper mesh with ability to create Faraday cage to impede and stop electromagnetic radiation. In the story, the technology evolved from its original form as the maker or developer Dr. Will was affected of the shooting incident by one member of leftist group named Revolutionary Independence From Technology’ (RIFT) with polonium laced bullet and he was at risked to live for just a month. Because her wife Evelyn is anxious of the situation of Will, her husband, she boosted the technology first done by placing and uploading the consciousness of Will into the quantum computer.  From this undertaking, Will was somehow redeemed from physical death and there was a request for the link or connection to the Internet to grow in updating knowledge and power. Evelyn forced Max, the best friend of her husband to connect the intelligence through the Internet using a satellite. From this, Will real persona was doubted and he was linked to possible media of terrorism to destabilize the government.

As the technology works to Will as being connected to power of Internet and consider the new wisdom he possessed, people might see him so destructive but at the end, the technology on him is his tool to actualize the vision of his wife to have a perfect world. The movie showed that Will is his virtual form and created a technological utopia in a remote place or town determined to be Brightwood where he started to have the progress of the great updates and technologies in biology, energy, medicine and nanotechnology. Nano particles acted as the way to control people’s minds remotely by Will and this technology scared also Evelyn.

This movie presents the perspective of utilizing science and technology by putting a choice of whether to have it for good or bad purpose. The main learning is that the people undertaking the control of the said technology is the one in control so the good or bad treatment of its usage depends on specific hands at work for it. This means that the scary point is the fact that human intellectual power can lead to abusive access to infinite resources and information. This movie reminds us of the possible dangers of advancing computers and technology. On the other hand, the technology in this story reminds how human can get empowered and be more revolutionized.

Given this kind of advertisement, I think the market or industry of this kind of technology that would be appropriate to introduce in is the information technology or robotics. The idea of artificial intelligence as presented in the movie Transcendence is more relevant to those business people who are inclined into utilizing computer and robotics. The integration of the two technology can help some companies in facing their tasks to be easier. The business sectors may get enthusiastic to minimize the human resource and resort the intellectual power of robots to help the flow of the procedures and processes.  If the costs of using this kind of technology has more effective minimizing cost effects then no doubt some people will consider the subscription or use of it. The world of information technology has already manifested its power as we face the changes in the modern world. My vision for the technology shown from the movie is that it is possible that more people or industries will try to get the help of artificial intelligence to expedite certain tasks or routines. Robots are already introduced and the ability to make human life better is awesome so there is a high possibility for a great market to consider artificial intelligence nowadays.
