Les Miserables (Q&A)

After watching a movie "les miserable" answer the ff questions:

1.      How are the four states of life portrayed in the film?(married life, single life, religious/conceptual life, and priesthood life)
In the film, the state of married portrayed is complicated as Marius and Cosette faced the plans of Thernadiers to hinder and make trouble on their wedding reception by making a murder story committed by Valjean, his grandfather.
In the film, the state of single life portrayed is extra-challenging and really difficult as shown in the life of Fantine who needed to render even illegal services in the prostitution or simply selling her teeth or hair. She works hard for her illegitimate daughter.   She is a single mother.
In the film, the state of religious/conceptual life portrayed is optimistic since there was a big inspiration seen to the life of Jean Valjean who was an ex-convict turned out to be a man of good heart who helps many people like Cosette. The Bishop really made him see the need to change for the better. This means that even an ex-convict can be a good person so he must not be judged entirely negative.
In the film, the state of priesthood life portrayed is positive as the character of the Bishop of Digne by the name of Monsieur Myriel who used to be a widower reflected the essence of selflessness and charity. In the film, he could be seen as a servant of God who deeply understands various critical situations in human life and the value of generosity and life with no luxuries.
2.      How true is the statement "to love another person is to see the face of God"?
The statement "to love another person is to see the face of God" is very true. This can be deemed real as Bishop of Digne tried to see positive side of Valjean. In his manner of understanding the background of Valjean, he already showered love in humanity. It is really admirable to see the Bishop so willing to shelter and protect Valjean despite of his bad habits before. Through his way of giving love through generosity and accommodation, he definitely sees the face of God. God is love and asks no conditions in helping out. Inspirations made Valjean to change for the better. I could say that it is real great blessing fro God to make a bad person become a better productive person.

3.      What is the close connection between the concept of the barricade and the "kingdom of God"?
The close connection between the concept of the barricade and the "kingdom of God" is the chance to get in or out easily in the destination of life that one wants despite odds or struggles to be faced. In the film, the barricade hindered Marius for seeing Cosette and placed in life danger. This reflects that if we want to enter the Kingdom of God, we have to surpass the barricades or struggles in life positively. Marius was given the chance to survive the chaos through the help of Jean. Through this, he got his way of meeting Cosette. There was happiness between them and they got chance to make plans for their marriage.  The barricade might be challenging but the unconditional love is like a way to the Kingdom of God.

4.      How did the different characters differ in their "vision of life"?
The different characters differ greatly in their vision of life as deeply deemed in the following perspectives they have:
The Bishop has the vision that anyone has to be given chances to change even though they used to be law-breakers. His vision also is to understand various human lives. It can be seen on the way he inspired Jean Valjean who was an ex-convict.
The police inspector Javert has the vision that criminals or law-breakers are not capable      of changing life for the better so they must be hunted ruthlessly.
Jean Valjean has the vision of being accountable to the life of illegitimate daughter of his factory worker, Fantine who died with grudge on him as she had to live as wore. He also    gave freedom to the arrested innocent man who was deemed as him.
Fantine has the vision that she can sacrifice anything for her child, Cosette even in             desperate moves like selling her hair and teeth and ven engaging into the employment in       the world of prostitution.
The Thernadiers have the vision of not being the darkhorse in terms of money collections as seen the scene when Valjean paid for the debts of Fantine. They are very keen and            clever in blackmailing Valjean.
